All the other kids

Boyish kicks down south, flirty fringes on neck details and man tailored outerwear - hello Sydney winter!

I am joined at the neck with my fringey textured snood from Sportsgirl, leaving it hanging like a long knit necklace over sleeveless pieces or python coiled around my shoulders as the evenings get chillier. I've also got my eye on about 4 different pairs of sneakers around town - kicks just keep getting fresher and that hole in my wallet keeps burning larger - gahh! Looks like great minds are still thinking alike, check out what Miss Kate was donning a few days ago - channelling indeed mama.

MBFWA 2015

Hubba Hubba
Glitter/androgyny/flares - it all happened this year.
I, along with all of the other common folk, hauled my non VIP behind to the Mercedes Benz fashion Weekend Edition. It was a little bit too edited to target the "everyday" audience but good fun and some gorgeous snippets of this year's lines on display. As for the main event, wayy too many froth worthy designs on and off the runway this year! Here's a little montage of my favourites, the streetstyle highlight was the ever lovely Elle Ferguson in the bassike suit, runway obsession was definitely toni maticevski. On ya straya!

To the chase

Just a quick pop in loves. Spending this weekend running around and honing some hectic multi-tasking skills. Keeping it light and snappy in this sweet waistcoat (also from my Romwe haul - style drip feed indeed). MBFW fun coming soon!...

Discovery Day

I've been seeing nothing but white on white in my various social media style feeds. There's no doubt I'll be getting amongst that, but for now grey on grey is my fav flavour of monochrome.

While everyone was at coachella, I (after I was done with sulking and envious insta-stalking of festival fun) went for a wander around our local hood's historic "discovery day" celebrations. Any excuse to whip out a few pieces from my ROMWE haul (finally arrived in the post this week argh). I literally bagged 4 tops, two bottoms, this knit pullover and an overcoat for less than what I paid for my last haircut, what! The quality is a bit hit and miss but it's overall pretty fair for what you pay (ah nothing) and definitely one of those sites you can experiment a few pieces with before shilling out the big bucks on those less budget friendly purchases (hello alexander wang slacks).

LOVE ON TOP

Ah yes, Sydney siders, we got played by that little diva that is mother nature.

We were robbed of the best part of the long weekend! Arrivo 4 day break and nothing but rain and grey forcing us to abandon fabulous plans of frolicking about the coast and driving us indoors to play board games and eat tonnes of food to make up for lame weather.

And then - SUNday.

Hand me that over-sized knit so I can tuck away the evidence of the easter eating toll and otherwise keep everything black, comfortable and flattering. Speaking of, last season's Cameo On Top shorts are still feeling the love, the fabric is quite thick so they are kind of perfect on those "now it's cold, now it's not" days we are having in not so sunny Syd. Bring on the super chilly weather so I can  team these with tights underneath and knee high boots (yep yep I'm being careful of what I wish for).

Stop it Kate

Rumor has it

Have you ever spotted an item of clothing and instantly had visions of entire looks you'd create with it?

That is exactly what happened when I hastily tried these shorts on in the remaining 5 minutes of my lunch break - - - et voila - - - the perfect accomplice to a demure evening ensemble as well as a breezy bottom half to relaxed weekend wear. These shorts by Rumor are just so versatile and comfortable and at $59.95 I didn't need to break that ever stretched winter wardrobe budget. Am looking forward to teaming these with a slouchy turtle neck sweater - so much wear to be had!
