Did someone say floral?

Let's face it. I'm a girly girl through and through.

Minimal and monochrome may be an every day mantra but I have to confess that I'm a sucker for a good print, yes, even a floral print, but let me explain...

Recently, the fabulous Margaret Zhang blogged about the floral hesitation that plagues most of the women I know. For my part I grew up with girlfriends always raising a brow or politely refusing any suggestions of flowery themed prints in their dressing room. They would usually follow up the veto with an explanation that said floral or print either gave off a "grandma vibe" or screamed a frilly, hair twirling girly girl look.

As for me, florals and prints find their way into my wardrobe in all sorts and forms. Granted I can't be taken too seriously when sporting a print like this one, but who really cares when it adds a pop of fun and colour into an otherwise dreary autumn day? I should also add that there are some kinds of floral that even I am not OK with - usually the less abstract and overly colourful splashes - but on the whole whether it be polka dots, stripes, paisley or floral, prints say playful and as with all things, in moderation and in good taste they are a dimension of style that I will happily wander in and out of.
