Increasingly accruing financial and necessary-to-adult-life commitments (mortgage, health insurance, netflix, the mothership of a HECS debt it seems I will never actually pay off etc etc) is forcing me to get way more creative with working with what I have as opposed to clicking the "add to cart" on my weekly fashion crushes. I am resorting to bullet points for the rest of this post because frankly it's a bunch of pretty dis-jointed but all note-worthy comments for how I am going about achieving this:
1. Just because you can't share wardrobes with your sister anymore does not mean you cannot raid your other half's for wonderful uni-sex (not always but who's checking anyway) pieces - see polaroid ray-bans below.
2. Sometimes you can find awesome vintage faux designer pieces at markets - see Chanel purse bought for $10 at Rozelle markets (which for the record are the last markets you'd head to for pre-owned fashion but hey miracles do happen).
3. Spend part of your Sunday ploughing through the dark undiscovered parts of your shoe drawers and hey presto, a pair of beige suede ankle boots I scored from a "fashion-swap" we held at the office a few eons ago.
4. Buy TOPSHOP stuff, just do it - see that denim skirt right there? (see also last 4-5 blog posts, you get the pictureand yes the Sydney store is the golden exception to that but will keep you posted on that front).
5. Trying to avoid that "I could do with some more insulation in this cold weather" fat gain, the trans-seasonal stuff will still fit and you won't need to go eating your feelings when you realise summer is fast approaching and there is no "bikini body" in time for the christmas break (this one is really just for me, readers eat your hearts out).
Got any hot tips for how y'all are making the most of what you got?
