North & South

Ain't nothing wrong with a little repetition mama, especially for those much loved seasonal accessories...

If you're a neutral colour addict like me, then make it your priority to keep it interesting with the details. I've said before that I'm super lazy with jewellery and am strangely not a shoe addict like most femmes, so when I find something that works, I make that little baby work overtime in my wardrobe rotation.

Denim and grey with all black (almost black!) accessories is a no brainer. The Tory Burch cross over seems to be the answer to every on the go ensemble these days and the Topshop ballet lace ups add that critical feminine factor every time. The forever 21 fedora (see previous post) is also getting much love in these chilly but dry conditions, whipping it out en route to the local farmers markets (our local one in orange grove is amaze!) or perfect when strolling through the more "avant-garde" (you know what i mean, spare me from using the H word!) crowds of glebe.

What's your current accessory crush?

Mid week moss feed - Office Edit

Hows about some corporate style talk for your mid week moss feed loves?

I know it's hardly a hump day treat to discuss more work related stuff on a school night but we may as well start talking work wardrobes! After all, the clothes many of us office creatures live in for some 70% of the week should at least reflect some sense of your personal style and professional flair. This long waist coat I'm donning (from TOPSHOP, yes another) has become my easy "throw over" option when outfits feel a little blank and these borderline drop crotch pants (Urban outfitters - boo yah) are juuust formal enough to keep me looking the part during business hours. I am officially using winter as an excuse to not have a single skirt make an appearance. My work wardrobe mantra used to be "sharp and fitted" but I think I'm relaxing into a more "tailored but easy" phase and letting the footwear do more of the talking on the "meh" days. One thing I never regret is investing in really good quality pairs of slacks and perfectly tailored blazers.
What are your must do's and don'ts when on duty?

Hat Trick

If only the rain would let up a little and we could all rock our little fedoras and give them the wear they deserve!

This navy number is from Forever21, which I personally have never shopped much from and am pretty apathetic about it's arrival in Sydney (except for the accessories which are pretty good value). I've also been wearing the death out of my Walking home coat by the Fifth. It is soo warm and literally cut in a cocoon style shape without compromising the chic factor. Am still loving my rips from the Free People and of course the well-loved lace ups. I'm noticing some really creative cross-season outfits this winter. My tip would be to work your summer denim and sneakers into your winter wardrobe and play around with layering your frocks with your cable knits.

Home Run

Over-sized, maxi-length and uber-comfy are three essential buzz words for your winter wardrobe right now.

After my failed hunt for the perfect maxi length trench in new york (ahh did it ever occur to me that winter outerwear would be nowhere to be found in the big apple going into spring/summer?) I found my tailored piece of fabric heaven from the old faithful - the Cameo Collective Wicked Games Trench.

This coat adds some serious elegance to an evening outfit as well as looking effortlessly chic with some flats for a casual day look. As for the bottoms, don't let the name of the jeans scare you, this pair of MOM jeans from Topshop are my perfect idea of classic american street denim. They are just baggy enough to get away with without looking like I'm rocking my brother's pair from the 90's (now there's an idea...) but still cropped, high-waisted and contemporary to work into an easy day to night look.

And now for the accessories. Fresh out of NY, how can I not rock this bad boy yankees cap from New Era? Down south we have the Tyga Lizard skaters from Topshop (slipping these babies on every chance I get) and the super sexy lace up pumps from NineWest that I scored for $50 at the NineWest outlet in woodbury - yeww! The little sweetheart I'm rocking over my shoulder was one of many Tory Burch pieces I could not resist (also bought for a non-scary price tag at Woodbury).

I have sooo much more swoon-worthy denim and oversized outerwear as well as some super fun accessories that I am going to drip feed over the coming weeks (mwhaha). Stay warm, stay comfy and stay trending (trust me the co-existence of the three this season is possible)! xx
